Rock Face Farmhouse - Templeton, CA

In the oak-studded hills above Templeton, California is a farm property, which has an old farmhouse from before 1950. This farmhouse was pulled down and rebuilt into a new 2500 square foot home with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The home was designed to reflect the owner’s love for Australian Farmhouses. A complex gable roof with a wrap around porch protects almost 1000 square feet of outdoor deck on both sides of the home. A new detached garage sits to the side of this home. This home was designed with night-flush cooling and large overhangs to help reduce the heat gain throughout the year. The old brick fireplace was rebuilt and is a centerpiece to their open concept floor plan. Stone facades accent the large gable faces to the front and rear of this home as a tribute to the beautiful stone that can be found throughout the property.
