The Childcare Center for the Round Valley Indian Tribe is an 11,900 sq ft facility that includes four classrooms: two rooms for infants and toddlers, one for children ages 3-5, and one dedicated to after school programs. Select classrooms are to have their own dedicated restroom, and all classrooms will have a direct connection to the outside and a designated play area. In addition to classroom spaces, the proposed building will house three offices for the Childcare Center staff, a nurse’s office, a commercial/warming kitchen, a parent/ teacher gathering space that can act as a larger gathering room for the center, and a wellness room for staff that will be able to act as an emergency preparedness center for the community. The project utilizes natural building materials and creates a strong connection to nature.
