Andrew C. Goodwin, AIA, LEED AP

Andrew is an architect, writer, and educator with experience that spans multiple industries and experiences in the design and construction industry. As an educator he teaches university students the importance of designing for the common good. When not in the office, he can usually be found exploring the Central Coast with his wife and two daughters.

Alex Ceballos

Alex is a Principal and Office Lead for AGD's Central Valley office. Having been raised in Porterville, California, Alex brings extensive history to his work in the Central Valley office. His expertise is in single family residential and commercial projects of all size. He has a Bachelor's of Architecture from Cal Poly, and when he is not in the office he enjoys spending his time with his wife and two kids. He is also a licensed Realtor!

Bryan Shields

Bryan Shields (Registered Architect) received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Virginia (2000) and a Master of Architecture from the University of Virginia (2004). He is the Principal in charge of Residential Design at Andrew Goodwin Designs in addition to being a Lecturer at the California Polytechnic Institute, San Luis Obispo, Department of Architecture as a 5th Year Thesis Instructor. Prior to moving to San Luis Obispo in 2015, Bryan worked as an Architect and Lecturer in Charlotte for over 10 years.

Michael Demartini, AIA, LEED AP

Michael is a Principal at AGD and comes with over 20 years experience in the industry. Michael brings a wealth of knowledge in the municipal, residential, military and commercial industries. It is believed that he has worked on over 200 competitive design-bid-build and design-build projects in his career - but who's counting? He received his Bachelor's of Architecture from Cal Poly and has called the Central Coast home for almost two decades.

Josh Miller, Assoc. AIA

Josh Miller joined AGD after earning his Bachelor's of Architecture with a minor in Sustainable Environments from Cal Poly in 2018 . As an Associate Designer, Josh contributes to the design, programming, and planning of projects. His interest in the built environment and its interface with people is what Josh holds at the core of his design philosophy. Always fascinated by the role of architecture in daily life, he aims to create sustainable and quality designs that connect to the broader environment. Out of the office, Josh enjoys furniture design, making, and fabrication technology.

Angelique Macklin

Angelique is one of multiple employees that had interned and had Andrew as a professor before joining the team full-time. She earned her B.Arch from Cal Poly in 2019 has has been with AGD ever since. Angelique's passion is for philanthropic design that gives a voice to under-served communities who have the greatest need for good design. She seeks to create designs that support the emotional and mental wellness of the occupant and local community by building meaningful connections through architecture. Outside of the office, she enjoys a good story, exploring the outdoors, and learning something new.

Aaron Golab

Kristin Fauske

Aaron Golab joined the AGD Family at the start of 2021. He earned his Bachelor of Architecture from Cal Poly in 2018. Aaron has experience working on multifamily, commercial, residential, mixed-use and hospitality project types. His love of architecture and design came from the thought-provoking elements and ideas that the field can have...and Legos, of course. Aaron has great passion in connecting with people and helping make their visions come true.​​

Kristin joined the AGD team during the summer of 2021 after graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture from Cal Poly in 2017 and working in Los Angeles and New York City. She has contributed to the Venice Biennale of Architecture and has experience working on high-end private residences, multi-family housing, and industrial projects. She won the 2017 Biomimicry Global Design Challenge alongside her team of student designers and engineers, and believes that looking to nature’s own time-tested design strategies can help us to create a more sustainable future. Having grown up in Santa Cruz, Kristin is happy to be back on the Central Coast and enjoys spending time outside and making highly-detailed jewelry in her free time.

Taylor Kortas

Taylor joined the AGD team in 2023 after graduating with a Master of Architecture from the University of Colorado Denver, focusing on design build and historic preservation. Her favorite project to work on so far was with the ColoradoBuildingWorkshop Design Build group, designing and building the NOAA research station in Antarctica. She became interested in architecture through a passion for art and making, traveling, and tagging along in her dad’s truck to masonry projects in Steamboat Springs, CO. She is excited to switch up her snowboard for a surfboard and enjoy the Central Coast, hiking with her dog Hank, and arts + crafting.

Troy Nguyen

Troy recently earned a Bachelor of Architecture from Cal Poly in 2023. Born and raised in Vietnam, Troy’s passion lies upon enhancing the spatial relationship between old and new, a dedication to working between time and space that provokes the emotional and cultural essence of a place. His thesis was regarded as one of the most outstanding cultural projects and received a faculty thesis award. Troy is also involved in the academic realm by being an annual visiting design critic and mentor for the Architecture Department at El Camino College. Outside of the office, he enjoys traveling with his sketchbook, which he believes to be a timeless hobby that any designer/architect should pursue. Troy was the recipient of the AIA Ken Roberts Architectural Delineation Competition 2022 for Best Travel Sketch.

Josebet Luna, LEED Green Assoc.

Josebet joined the team after graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture from Cal Poly in 2023. She was introduced to the design industry in middle school where she began learning technical drafting, which set her on the path towards pursuing a career in Architecture. In her role as a designer, she strives to uncover ways to revitalize built environments to promote the well-being of communities in the future. Outside of academics and professional work, she dedicates her time to Mexican Folklore, which she has actively pursued since high school performing for various events and organizations throughout college. Moreover, she finds joy in cultivating plants and experimenting with new recipes.

Neal Breton

Neal Breton, a New Hampshire native, has been a professional artist for over twenty five years. He studied painting at Pasadena City College in the Mid-90’s and has curated and shown his work all over the United States. After living in the suburbs of Los Angeles, he now resides on the Central Coast in Los Osos, where he is a proud administrator, father, and president of the board at the SLO County Arts Council. In his free time, Neal enjoys baking cookies and cakes.

Ejay Brady

Ejay Brady is a Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo graduate with a bachelor's in communication studies and a minor in sustainable environments. As Director of Communications, she aims to develop and implement dynamic communication strategies in order to articulate AGD's core values within and outside of the firm. In her free time, Ejay enjoys being outside, surfing, traveling, and spending time with her family, friends, and dog.
